The Second Shrine is a sacred space that is used to hold divine ceremonies. It is also a multipurpose facility that will be made available for use by the public to hold local cultural events. It will also be used as an evacuation center in times of emergency. Systems have been installed to produce energy from renewable energy resources such as solar and biomass in the form of wood. Furthermore, systems have also been installed to generate and store hydrogen. Utilizing multiple renewable energy resources, this building has begun operating as Japan's first "new energy facility."
